ISIS fighters have been reduced from 40,000 to 1,000.
ISIS didn't exist a short time ago, before it did they were lauding the number of Al Queda fighters and commanders we killed.
You think it's hard to scrap up a 40-50k fighting force in one of these countries once a power vaccuum hits? We're not closer to preventing the next vaccuum once the next POTUS feels its politically expedient to pull out. We haven't won anything, and as i predicted all you have is a pile of dead arabs to show for your "winning".
GWB fucked up. Obama fucked up worse because he wanted his deathtoll low. Trump hasn't done anything different in terms of progress, just stagnation. Trump's entire focus in the middle east is sending Kushner to ineffectual meetings and rolling back Obama's failed plan with Iran.
At this point we have 2 "good" options:
1. Full on Japanese/German style occupation and rebuilding process
2. Leave outright and pull all oil cash from OPEC if terror attacks commence
neither of which is all that good.

Gas prices dropped significantly in the past three months because Trump negotiated with OPEC to produce more oil, we are fine.
frankly, while it's a positive, i dont see it as a cost effective or proportional reward for the hassle. we're actively squelching electric tech in an attempt to prop up the Saudis behind closed curtains and punish Venezuela to prove socialism doesnt work.
