What a lazy, low IQ take. Anti-establishmentarianism is not an end in itself, it makes sense when the establishment sucks and needs a forced course-correction.
Republican elites would definitely prefer a candidate like JEB!, Rubio or Haley - but they know that the base would have none of it. DeSantis is the only candidate who's both acceptable to the base and party leaders. The establishment rallying around him is an act of compromising, which they do out of sheer desperation since they (imho correctly) assume that another Trump candidacy would be a huge electoral risk and that another Trump presidency would be a disaster for the party. DeSantis is clearly the only candidate who has any chance of winning a contested primary against Trump, that's why they back him.
Note that DeSantis has already been blasted a ton by the MSM and never folded. Can't compare this to a billionaire Hollywood "Republican" like Arnie, who was known for his moderation on any non-fiscal issue even before he became governor, and who clearly had a strong incentive to preserve his reputation with liberals for his post-office life.
i like desantis, but i smell that dirty "boom boom in the middle east" aura around him from 3000 miles away
and i stand by my opinion that it would be a massive mistake to go to washington, nobody can drain that swamp, nobody
it swallows everyone even if they play along
just chill in florida and become a legend in the best state of the US, but i know that almost nobody will walk away from the chance to become president
especially now, i guess the next elections will be a fantastic chance for the republicans
