It isn't cheaper. Its just taken out of your taxes so if you're dumb you think its free

No one thinks anyone thinks it is free except you american conservatives.
You have this sphere of delusion around you 24/7.
I mean i literally live in a country with this system and it is fucking great.
Meanwhile you have people losing their homes over medical bills and think a magical free market fairy is a better idea.

Insurance is what everyone on the right thinks is a better alternative than actual healthcare.

conservatives or especially right wing libertarians don't want to be forced to pay for anything so required insurance which doesn't cover what you want doesn't seem a very apt comparison.

He clearly whined he didn't want to pay the extra for real insurance.
problem with your system is uninsured people would either drag the rest of you down or start dropping dead in the streets.
Which is actually what happens.

It's too ambiguous for that to be clearly what happened in his situation as he mentions nothing about 'pay the extra for real insurance'. I am not making an economical statement on which system costs less than the other but ethically people should be allowed to make the decision to not be forced to pay for healthcare and if their decision leads to an earlier death that's up to them.
What are your thoughts on the economical healthcare burden of the ever increasing elderly population?

The elderly here paid their medicare levy for all their healthy years, they deserve to be looked after.
We just need to keep a well educated population and restrict immigration from countries bordering india and we will be fine.
