Apparently the chances of child being born with any sort of defect is the same for those born from first cousins and those born from mothers over the age of 40. It would be absurd if we banned mother of that age from having children.

In any case, I agree that such unions should not be "cultural", because nobody should be pressured to marry a specific husband/wife.
