Almost like he doesn't have a right to be involved in the decision on whether to keep the child or not.

Yep. Because it involves a medical procedure that he doesn't have to undergo, and we can't take away her right to autonomy in medical decisions.

Do you disagree with the idea that parents have duties and obligation towards their children?

If a guy wants the child and the woman doesn't I'd support requiring her to make support payments.

Sure, if you have that in place then yea. But that isn't current law or practice is it?

But does the man have a choice in whether or not the child is born? If he does then it is already pretty well set. If he can't choose then he shouldn't have to pay if the woman decides to abort without his agreement.

It happens in divorces, not often but it does in cases where the woman makes more and loses custody of the kids

I'm not sure why monetary gain should matter in this decision...

Child support isnt meant to be perceived as monetary gain, it's supposed to go towards supporting the growth and development of the child to make up for the absence of a parent. There is a debate on restrictions around how child support payments ought to be spent and what constitutes a reasonable sum but that's another discussion.

I'm talking about the woman....changing her mind.

Her: I don't want kids.
Him: OK
Her: Oops I got pregnant
Him: Well what should we do now?
Her: I will keep the child and you will pay for 20 some years.

...and please. An abortion hardly qualifies as a "medical procedure", like it was an appendectomy or spinal surgery. It's like 5 mins, no coat hanger necessary. Hell they even have pills that will cause a fetus to abort.
Let's try and stay in the 21st century.
