It's already over. Cruz is the evil seed of Jfk's assassin's accomplice and there is no way the basketball ring state will allow him to stop The Donald.

Cruz isn't white or orange enough to be trusted

Donald Trump only has one path left in this race and it leads straight to victory

I agree that a Trump nomination is highly likely at this point, and even more so if he wins Indiana tonight, but I don't think you can completely rule out any GOP shenanigans.

By almost all accounts it would be political suicide, but the GOP has the authority to rewrite their convention and nomination rules. They control the playbook.

So if they want, they could nominate someone else as their presidential candidate, even if Trump does reach the 1,237 delegates. I don't think this is likely, but it is possible.

Trump would almost certainly run 3rd party in that case and the Democrats would almost certainly win the election, but the GOP could figure that the White House is a loss in 2016 anyways, and decide it's better to nominate someone who doesn't destroy the party brand and cost them vulnerable Congressional seats, two things nominating Trump could do.

I can't wait to see who Trump will have as his VP.

Marco Rubio is close to endorsing Trump soon.

He really needs to pick up Oprah and lock this election cycle in already.

oh I'm hoping for GOP shenanigans

my ultimate setup is Cruz wins Indiana but Trump still hits 1237 (entirely possible) but GOP does some bullshit anyway and then it fails and Trump still gets the nom

and then hillary wins

For me that would be the most enjoyable way this goes down

throw in a solid VP pick for hillary and a hilarious one for trump and this will be fantastic for me

I would be incredibly happy if he made this terrible mistake and Oprah was on every television in the country to explain why she said no.

You don't call out someone to be your VP by surprise... Annoucements are for the crowd. She would obviously know ahead of time. :bonk:

Yes. He would ask her and then she would say no, and then she would talk about it on every television in the country because everyone would want to hear about it. I wasn't implying he was going to announce her as his VP and then she was going to say no, that's dumb.

Oh okay, yeah perhaps something like that could happen. Ideally he will pick someone that is on the other side of the table though. He needs someone with oposing ideas to balance him out.

What if all of what you outlined happens, except Hillary gets indicted?

Do you still think she beats Trump? Does the DNC replace her with someone else? Sanders, Biden?
