3 one-termers since wwII?

carter, bush senior, and.... johnson I guess? JFK cant count for this, and he would have cruised to reelection anyway.

Gerald ford only served 2.5 years but he also failed to get reelected. shouldn't have pardoned Nixon.

Why does Trump watch fake news (CNN)?

Donald J. Trump
‏Verified account @realDonaldTrump

Just watched former Intelligence Official Phillip Mudd become totally unglued and weird while debating wonderful @PARISDENNARD over Brennan’s Security Clearance. Dennard destroyed him but Mudd is in no mental condition to have such a Clearance. Should be REVOKED? @seanhannity

only 3 one terms presidents since WW2. its hard to fuck it up. 9 previous to WW2 tho, many of them in the formative days of the US. this shits too entertaining to end after 4 years tbh

As entertaining as Trump's tweets and rallies are, I'd be fine if it ended after 4 years. I do have to admit that watching him deliver tactical nukes on Twitter are a guilty pleasure of mine...and he is an absolute hoot at campaign-style rallies, but he's simply doing too much damage to our democratic institutions to justify the entertainment.

The pardon is bullshit. If we keep it, we need to at least add a check a balance. Say, a 2/3 approval from the Senate.

pardon for some crimes sure. but presidents pardon too many people and communicate too many sentences to get senate involved (more of the latter admittedly) .

Perhaps that should change, then. Many of the most recent Presidents, most notably Bill Clinton, used the pardon power to get members of their own party and administration out of legal peril. That was not how the pardon power was intended to be used.

I'm not a fan of the pardon power in principle. I think it's a gross violation of the separation of powers and essentially the power of a tyrant. Amending the Constitution is hard as fuck, but if Trump ever pardons himself, I think we should seriously look into at least adding some sort of check and balance on it.
