A member of the Walton family (as in Walmart) co-founded the Lincoln Project. The goal of the Lincoln Project is to get Paul Ryans and Mitt Romneys in office. People who will cut taxes on corporations, not interfere with their shitty labor practices, lower trade barriers with China, etc. Compromise on every social issue, every issue on state authority, every immigration question, as long as the corps make more money. That's it. That's the only reason it exists. And the only reason the establishment GOP exists.
so basically trump's key legislative achievements, tax breaks and large scale de-regulation for corporations?
always boggles my mind when people act like trump was some kind of working class hero in anything but (broken) promises and branding.
in reality, his policies exacerbated the core problems (record income andwealth inequality, record minimum wage slavery to boost job numbers, erosion of protections against predatory financial practices and system threatening market bubbles...), he didn't stop ANY of america's trillion dollar forever wars (actually expanded the drone program, actively supports saudi-arabia's genocide in yemen, and dangerously escalated the situation with iran), or accomplish anything else that substantially improved the situation for the common man on average.
i mean, fuck the incoming administration, its establishment swamp creatures, and the predictable continuation of obama's neo-liberal (with occasional rhetorical and / or symbolic nods to social progressivism) course, and double fuck the grifters from the lincoln project (although their attack ads are undeniably good) - but suggesting or even believing that trump was the honest guy compared to them, the one that actually cared about the people rather than his business buddies, fellow millionaires, and most importantly, himself, is just hilariously delusional.
