https://www.cnn.com/2020/02/15/entertainment/caroline-flack-love-island-dead-trnd/index.htmlA story with some twists and turns
An ITV host Caroline Flack was charged after her escalating domestic abuse culminated in bashing in her tennis star boyfriend's head with a lamp while he was sleeping, cracking his skull open and spraying blood all over the sheets because she thought he was cheating on her. Despite the nearly fatal assault and an ex coming forward saying he experienced similar violence but felt silenced by an NDA, Flack received some support from some sides of the twitterverse while being lampooned and called out by publications like The Sun, including a rather illfated Valentine's Card joke they posted saying "I'll fucking lamp you". Then today she offered herself in the midst of the legal and media storm. Now a bunch of social media hate is being directed at The Sun and anyone who was hostile to her, claiming she's a victim of cyber/print bullying. Ex;

Utterly devastating about Caroline Flack. She was a fun, kind beautiful person, always loved seeing her. So unfair that this has happened. Let’s pray we learn from this and remember to be a little bit more compassionate to people when they are down. -Jack Whitehall
It must be heartbreaking for the family & friends of Caroline Flack to read tributes from some of those who hounded her. Our ‘cancel’ culture is brutal. We all have demons and flaws but we dehumanise each other & are then surprised when it all becomes too much for some. -Dan Walker
There are people that think attacking others on twitter or other social media platforms make's them powerful. That bombarding people with insults, gifs, memes, talking about their family, their children is harmless. It's not. There are consequences. RiP- Noel Clarke
At least the true monster of this story has been identified, and its not the one that brained a defenseless person
