I agree. Much better to have this be the case than to find out Trump and/or his campaign engaged in electoral conspiracy.

I do hope the left moves on from this now that the report is concluded. However, I feel like the sections about obstruction and how the report states how they don't find that Trump committed a crime but that the report doesn't exonerate him will be where some people pivot to.

It's annoying how CNN and MSNBC keep saying the obstruction issue was not resolved because Mueller couldn't indict a sitting President. Says right there in the document that both Rosenstein and Barr agreed no actions constituted obstruction. Sorry if someone already brought this up, I just love responding to cuffs and am reading through the thread.

Quote (People Blowing IceMage the fuck out)
After reviewing the Special Counsel’s final report on these issues; consulting with Department officials, including the Office of Legal Counsel; and applying the principles of federal prosecution that guide our charging decisions, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and I have concluded that the evidence developed during the Special Counsel’s investigation is not sufficient to establish that the President committed an obstruction-of-justice offense. Our determination was made without regard to, and is not based on, the constitutional considerations that surround the indictment and criminal prosecution of a sitting president.

In cataloguing the President’s actions, many of which took place in public view, the report identifies no actions that, in our judgment, constitute obstructive conduct, had a nexus to a pending or contemplated proceeding, and were done with corrupt intent, each of which, under the Department’s principles of federal prosecution guiding charging decisions, would need to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt to establish an obstruction-of-justice offense.

Yep, we can get back to focusing on his inability to tell the truth, even regarding the dumbest of things, and his constant and increasingly severe incompetence.

Here here, Trump is a major disappointment and owned by Israel.

I was never on the Russia train

I've openly said since the beginning I hope he is innocent and want him defeated from votes

I dislike Trump but I have no interest in wishing a guilty President on a country already on shaky political and social ground

Conservatives mistake my political and social leanings for a dislike of America but make no mistake I love this country, our country and I am very happy he is innocent for that reason

Don't worry, retard Trump is going his best to import enough people that a Republican will never be able to win the presidency again.

thanks for dropping in to battle the libs

right wing Trump loving voices are few and far between in pard

a breath of fresh air

I would argue that there are more people on pard that lean left than right.

Dissenting opinion isn't something people with secure beliefs complain about.

"Source please!" is everyone's response whenever confronted with a fact that they don't like. They never have any intention of reading anything; they just want to express that they are mentally incapable of any reaction other than (1) blindly swallowing what they like and (2) indiscriminately denying anything they don't like.

source of what? i can source anything i've stated. do you want reason why we aren't allowed to view the report? or are you looking for the IG's reports?

Who here is making that argument?

The House voted 420-0 to release the Mueller report. I believe Barr when he summarizes it to exonerate the Trump team on collusion, but the American people deserve to see as much of it as possible.

i've only just briefed the forum, but page 1 of this thread has comments of needing to read the report.
there have also been other comments very recent in similar threads that i've briefed. it's also the only thing being repeated on msnbc right now.

also, it doesn't matter what congress votes.

the report goes to barr for 2 main reasons.
1: prevention of letting people know how the fbi gathers and uses info. among other secrets not for ill eyes.
2: prevention of defamation. there will undoubtedly be a large number of people brought up in this report. if they are not criminally charged, their info doesn't need to be tossed around in the public to be used against them.

i'll come back and debate later. i have to work now.

They are not and never have been the left. They are center right. Left of the Republicans but still the right. The left has been saying the Russia thing was bullshit form the start. Go read what Jill Stein, Naomi Klein, etc. have been saying the whole time.

The name Naomi Klein should never be discussed in serious political conversation. Might as well direct us to view some Moore "documentaries".

What I meant is, those people who say "Oh god I want to read the report" are the same type of people who respond with "Source please!" every time they see a statement they disagree with.

The biggest problem is the more exposure to the seedy underside of Trump, the more he comes out smelling like roses. Anyone else remember when Maddow found a portion of his tax returns that had him paying like 20 million dollars? The only thing they have left is nitpicking with the nits in the House.

Congress has been battling DOJ for two years trying to get information on the Hillary email investigation and Russiagate. Democrats are going to pick up that fight... and Republicans may do so also in an attempt to smear the investigators.

Standard DOJ practice is to not smear unindicted people, but there's always exceptions.

The more investigation, the more shit that vindicates Trump. Better to run on the persecution bit rather than his gross incompetence. I just wish he'd go be PM of Israel already.

The Hillary email thing was a ton of bullshit though. To get away with no legal consequences and her associates are all offered immunity. The way the FBI handled the email controversy and the Russia controversy should prove to everyone that the DOJ, really the entire government, works for who it wants to work for.
