No I don't post off topic. I occasionally "respond" to off topic posts by others.
Let's try to keep your fantasies straight.

ya know how the Right/trump cultists like to say there's no such thing as voter suppression?

A majority-black county in rural Georgia announced a plan last week to close seven of its nine polling places ahead of the November election, claiming the polls cannot continue to operate because they are not compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The move sparked instant opposition from voting rights advocates, who have threatened legal action if Randolph County follows though with the plan. Activists are also scrambling to collect enough signatures to stop the effort before Friday, when the election board will make a final determination.

The racial implications of the closures have generated significant attention. The county is over 61 percent black, and one of the polling locations that would be shuttered serves a precinct where more than 95 percent of voters are African American.
...
“It’s a diabolical move: citing one civil rights statute (the ADA) as the justification for violating another (the VRA),” Tucker, who previously worked in the DOJ’s Voting Section, told ThinkProgress. “These sorts of closures can effectively disenfranchise entire communities of voters, all under the false guise of purportedly seeking to make polling places accessible for the disabled.”

gerrymandering in 9/10 cases is about voter suppression for minority chunks. anyone who denies voter suppression exists is an ignorant fool.

yep. it really sucks how Democrats have to get more votes just for the same representation in Congress thanks to pro-G.O.P gerrymandering. (and yes, I'm aware there is gerrymandering that favors democrats in some instances, but that's in the slim minority of gerrymandering cases).

its not a slim minority at all. when the Dems draw the lines they undo the GOP's work, and the cycle continues. its a chicken and egg situation, hard to track 100 years ago to see who did it first. u can make a biased guess but its not worth anything. its not as if the GOP gerrymanders and then it sits like that forever.

when the GOP draws the lines they gain, when the DNC draws the lines they gain. you can follow this stuff in a city like Milwaukee over time and watch how they split and then reconsolidate the black vote for a century. its a teeter totter.

i think you're mistaking the narrative, as the GOP doesn't express outrage over gerrymandering while the left does. but make no mistake the left tries to advantageously redraw lines as well. in order to have a moral argument one of the parties would need to make a logical approach to drawing district lines, perhaps with census data to make each district more representative, or even something geographical. instead both parties try to get more of their party to win and draw shapes on the map that defy logic geographically.

I'm aware that things change when censuses are done/lines are drawn, but right now, the G.O.P is reaping the benefits of gerrymandering... not the Dems...

1. that's too broad of a statement to really mean anything

2. you're a liberal, i'm a centrist, so what you'd likely consider "liberals setting things right that the GOP goofed up" i simple see as more biased gerrymandering

in the south the GOP reaps the benifits of gerrymandering in some places for sure, in a place like florida tho its just a teeter totter. to me that's biased gerrymandering on both sides, im a centrist.

A centrist like Ghot or an actual centrist?
