I've noticed a trend of self-deconstructing headline articles that I believe are explicitly aimed at twitter, facebook & reddit to manipulate people scrolling through them.
They cover their own deniability by actually including the reason the headline is deceptive in the article, thus being technically correct, but word the headlines for maximum sensationalism and spin.

I'd tell you that if you don't want sensationalism read WaPo/NYT, but something tells me you'd disagree.

They are the forefront of perpetuating tabloid style heavily editorialized headlines.

Most of your threads suck, the NYT and WaPo are putting out the best journalism. They are doing their job.

So two things had to occur for the NYT to make their Manchester bombing story
1) Someone in the US intelligence community had to leak all those crime scene details after being given them by the UK
2) The NYT had to decide it was appropriate to publish these details on the national news
As far as journalistic integrity goes, well at least they aren't Nightcrawler yet.
You don't see anything wrong with the NYT routinely publishing leaked intelligence that is actively harming world security, without any objective but getting a bigger scoop?
Its not some grand crusade of transparency or whistleblowing. And the Intel services made specific requests they don't do this just a day earlier

They know they can just blame Trump and their readers will eat it up, despite the fact that NYT is leaking and then blaming the administration for leaking.

It's fucking ridiculous and sick. I want real stories. I want something substantive that can actually bring down the Trump administration. But this tabloid style invention of the news is complete and utter bullshit. It's turning liberals away and giving conservatives more ammo.
