Melania could try to intervene into her husbands policies that have literally split up families. You just don't think they're important because of ethnocentrism. Melania, as an immigrant, has a responsibility to advocate for people who are like her.

Basically the same argument presented in MLK's Letter from Birmingham Jail.

The vicious racists are never going to change their mind, MLK argued, and the people who are fighting for equality are already on the right side. The people who believe in good while doing nothing to fight evil are complicit in it and it is up to the inactive but good people to become galvanized and help justice come about.

It was directed at the Christian establishment who were supportive of the anti-Christian system of segregation. He had several arguments in it as to why segregation itself was immoral.

I'm not saying this issue is the same as that or the same severity etc. That is probably what she is trying to do. I'm not going to spend much time reading her opinion though
