I didn't say, nor do i think, it's an authoritarian reign. he's just politically sniping, using the power of office, to take a jab at a guy who talks shit about him. He's doing it publicly for optics. i dont like presidents using powers for personal squabblings, and creating a precedent in the meantime that you can disrupt channels of information with those you dislike. when he could have just made a directive that none of the employees should seek consulting with Brennan without running it by the WH. it just seems to me that you care about precedent sometimes in situations like this when it suits you.
creating a nixonian secret blacklist seems like a far less accountable means of accomplishing the same thing as publicly cutting someone's security clearance. The goal is to deny him access to privileged information and consulting either way.
Trump clearly has more at stake with the rampant leaking than just a personal vendetta or political sniping. Having folks like McCabe, Strzok, Brennan, Yates, Page, Rice, etc running around with clearances even
after they've demonstrated that they're not only political partisans but were willing to violate the apolitical role of their positions to stab Trump with their hate-boners, is a clear security risk. When someone shouts from the rooftops their willingness to be a liberal martyr, you take away the keys to the gun closet
