Using presidential power to punish his critics... awesome.
What a strange place America has become. You have to wonder just how unhinged and dangerous Trump will be when his presidency is really on the line.
one glance at John Brennan's twitter feed is enough to know he's unhinged;

Donald Trump’s press conference performance in Helsinki rises to & exceeds the threshold of “high crimes & misdemeanors.” It was nothing short of treasonous. Not only were Trump’s comments imbecilic, he is wholly in the pocket of Putin. Republican Patriots: Where are you???
Trump seems right on the money in his calculation: "

“First, at this point in my administration, any benefits that senior officials might glean from consultations with Mr. Brennan are now outweighed by the risk posed by his erratic conduct and behavior,” Trump said in a statement read by Sanders at Wednesday’s briefing.
“Second, that conduct and behavior has tested and far exceeded the limits of any professional courtesy that may have been due to him,” Trump said in the statement. “Mr. Brennan has a history that calls into question his objectivity and credibility.”
Its pretty foolish to extend that courtesy to people you
know are going to abuse any access they have to try to sabotage and undermine his administration at all costs, even to the detriment of America. Trump's first year and half have been a constant effort from a subset of holdovers and career positions that decided to abuse their offices to oppose him politically, whether by the leakstravaganza winter or the grandstanding of outgoing heads like Yates or the CFPB power struggle. Its pretty hard to justify opening the door to some of the most radical foaming at the mouth opposition figures like Brennan who are one step away from calling for a coup.
