yes it looks bad, but he was trying to court Lisa Page, someone who probably dislikes Trump more than Strzok, of course he's going to say dumb shit that's going to be taken out of context. Do you really take that text literally? Why is it that we're supposed to take everything literally EXCEPT when it comes to the president, we're frequently told "oh, don't take him seriously" or "don't take it literally".
I agree that everything deserves to be evaluated in its proper context, but Strozk is still a huge embarrassment for the FBI, even if it's just a perception issue. His behavior leaves a lot to the imagination, and Mueller was right to fire him when he did.
I'm glad we have a Special Counsel looking into all of this because at this point between Strzok/McCabe/Comey and the respective OIG reports on the FBI over the past few years, I wouldn't have much faith in the institution to do it right. I have much more faith in Mueller.
Christopher Wray actually looks to be a great FBI pick. I hope he leads the Bureau out of this mess and restores some of the norms that Comey violated. Trump is right, Comey is a total showboat. It doesn't surprise me one bit how he has tried to profit off of his own self-inflicted blunders (press conference, letter) in the aftermath of his firing with his book tour.
