Three-quarters of teachers view unified standards positively.
common core =/= unified standards inherantly. thus the bullshit oversimplification.
currently the "common core curriculum" takes between 25-30 years to teach in real time. thus, about half of it isnt even used. sounds very "unified" when all teachers are forced to figure out what they can squeeze in. it also shuts down classroom participation and elaborating on concepts because there is so much pressure to just lecture out all the info.

The ones I've talked to aren't against it, and I'm in bumfuck Missouri where "get the government off my medicaid" is said in seriousness.
my guess, having talked to many teachers myself, is they realize its a GOP talking point and aren't inherently against unified standard in a reasonable form, along the lines of the above. My guess however is they all feel the issues and are not ok with common core in its current form, they just generally support unified standards.
personally i'm fine with unified standards as well, as long as they're incredibly flexible among certain age groups and almost non-applicable among those with special needs, whom they end up really causing issues for.
