Republicans should be very concerned if you break down the details
Democrats are outperforming in numbers that are making the next few months more important than many Trump supporters realize
one trend I've noticed is that liberal media outlets and commentators will compare the performance of democrats in districts where they invested 0 resources in 2016 (or didn't run an actual living human candidate at all) to the 2017/2018 special elections they poured millions of dollars into, and claim that the loss-by-a-smaller-margin is somehow a moral victory. Yeah, Ohio-12 was a a lot 'closer' in this special election than it was in 2016. Except in 2016, the republican candidate spent $1.2 million campaigning and the democrat was a random yokle who had $2216 in campaign donations and a few thousand bucks out of pocket, with nothing but a facebook page. In this past election, the two sides spent #3-4 million each. In Georgia's 6th, Handel and Ossoff spent a preposterous and historical record $50+ million in 2017. The democrats pulled out all the stops and dumped insane amounts of money and the republicans countered. And the election was close, but republicans won. But it was 'closer' than in 2016, when Tom Price ran against... "Rodney Stooksbury", a man who supposedly might exist, but there was no campaign website, no public pictures of him, no facebook, no twitter, no social media presence at all, and spent $0 campaigning. And Ossoff got a few hundred more votes than Stooksbury did
