Pretty sure she hasn't, but I would be disappointed if she was. Don't get me wrong, but Ciri already has an image among her fan base. Changing it to fit diversity is literally in line with the current nuanced definition of racism that people throw around nowadays.

You are somewhat right though, it isn't good to jump the gun on things like that. But letting them know that they are making a bad decision for the fan base because they aren't being super specific isn't a bad thing either.

They have been getting push back for not being diverse enough from another crowd

they are taking in the feedback and trying to find a balance to maximize audience even if it means losing hardcore sjws/racists and story loyalists

Something like The Witcher has an already defined line of cannon and plot outside of TV. The show business can't always win, and will sometimes have to consider whether they are going to temporarily appease the religious casual watchers of TV who are really only watching to waste time and jump from story to story, to those who replay and create fan fiction about an amazing fantastical story.

IDK which is the better decision for the long term and history in general, but looking at it this way may give way to the light that will shine us to the right path B)

PLUS, lets be real. It is only racist liberal people who actually care about the diversity of show. The moment you notice it outside of its ideological views is the moment you become the racist.

Netflix is doing a live-action adaptation, not a recreation. They are going to change things. They may even change core plot details.

Having Gosling play MLK would not be acceptable, assuming they are marketing the movie as a biopic.

But if someone wanted to make a fictional movie about a white civil rights advocate named 'Milton Lucas Kane' whose life events were eerily similar to MLK's, than that would be fine. As long they are presenting it as fiction.

Casuals rule the world in the money game

it happens in everything from professional fighting to movies and shows

When you deal with the big money, big names and mainstream machine you get their product aimed at casuals

they pay the bills

True and sad, but most casuals aren't screaming for it to be diverse. I'm sure only a small portion of casuals, if they are even people who care about the story anyways, are actually advocating in a changed Ciri.

TBH. They could change any other character outside of Ciri, Geralt, Yennefer and Tris and they'd be fine....

What does this mean? Do you not agree that it is an adaptation? Are you debating the difference between an adaptation and recreation?

No, and I'm not going to fall into the nonsensical trap you are trying to bait me into.

An adaptation may have changes, but that doesn't mean that those changes won't make people sad. Arguing with you under that nuance and source would be pointless, read over the rest of what has been said and it all still applies.

We are definitely in agreement that there are going to be people who are unhappy about the changes. Do we also agree that such people are stupid for feeling that way? Or are you contending that their feeling is justified?
