I don't have a problem with casting a non-white or non-slav actress for Ciri as long as they incorporate it well and make sure story and setting elements don't suffer. But that's a humongous task. Not only do you still have to include the race struggles between men, elves and dwarves, but also the regional and cultural differences between the empire of Nilfgaard, the smaller kingdoms like Kaedwen or Temeria, etc. I would be far easier to cast Ciri as white, and if you necessarily have to include diversity hires, do it for Dandelion, Zoltan or one of the sorceresses. Would be far easier to explain in story. Ciri's ancestry and even ethnicity is just far too central to the story.
I 100 percent do. The entire story is based off of the lore and history of the races.... LOL
But yea, it'd be easy to include some middle eastern culture into the story, or even asian, in some more of the creative or mercantile roles as they were already sort of like that for many of the side characters
