Hahaha.. We have the same, Yet in our country, the "publicly funded"* programs bring the best in depths research journalism (or whatever the translation is).
It is of a way higher quality than clickbait, meme and likes journalism. I can actually say I'm somewhat proud that we have programs like Zembla.

/e iirc it's not just tax funded nowadays, a bit more complex.

absolutely, a lot of it is quality stuff
as it should be with these massive amounts of funds they get
however they do have strong ties with politics and their reputation suffered quite a bit with the refugee crisis for example where they excelled at manipulatory news coverage

^^ "strong ties to politics". Nahh. We dont have such a money/power lobby. Politicians from left and right join together to form a government, life here is not that black and white.
As for funds, they are not as massive as in the past, the reforms we have had makes it fairly efficient for what they produce.

And that is a very valuable type of research journalism that is not seen in a pure free market broadcasting networks... I'd fight to keep it alive as it is. ^^

3 cnn employes fired for fake news, I wonder how CNN will handle this mess up. I think CNN's audience wont change as long as they keep feeding the anti-trump propaganda viewers will watch loyally.

How do you think they should've handled the retracted Russia story? Not asked for the resignations of those involved? Not implemented more stringent journalistic oversight on any Russia story?

They messed up, they quickly owned it. This new story by O'Keefe is so irrelevant even Laura Ingraham called it bullshit and moved on, lol.

Same way they should have handled Reza Aslan eating human brains on camera to make a hinduphobic documentary: Not do it in the first place. They're obviously engaged in a culture of unethical yellow journalism with or without its patron saint coming after them in kind. Just shooting wildly and 'taking responsibility' for only the errant bullets is no responsibility at all.

You wont see it as a big deal because you enjoy CNN, I will find it a bigger deal because I support Trump and genuinely believe CNN is more of a business and just wants views more than real news. They have a target audience and just feed them what they want to hear. The people who aren't as bias will see CNN in a more negative light especially when two quasi-similar events happen at the same time. Two events at once is much stronger than the sum of the individual events.
