Queue the inevitable "Trump is racist for calling a black person dumb", even though he insults literally anyone, all the time.

I'll never really get used to the president being such a thin-skinned little bitch that he has to tweet insults though. If you want a lesson in poor character, just look at Donald Trump.

I almost posted this last night, there's many different articles out there on it, even Rolling Stone picked it up.

apparently they're in some legal battle with NY that's causing them to bleed $

also, read another article (Mother Jones maybe?) about how the NRA abruptly changed leadership in May, which is unusual, as almost every NRA president does 2 consecutive terms.

it's interesting they claim they are in financial trouble considering a few facts:

the NRA spent approximately $30 M on trump's presidential run - that's more than they spent on their 2008 and 2012 election cycles combined, and that includes support for not only the presidential candidates, but also senate and house races.
their total reported spending also increased considerably to $420 M in 2016 (up from $260 M in 2012 and $200 M in 2008) - most of that for 'PR' and 'legislative programs'.

the fact that this massive spending explosion happened during butina's engagement and the NRA's increasing activities in russia is surely purely coincidental...
they don't have to disclose their donors but i'm sure this is all 100% legit...

Judge Beryl A. Howell ruled the FEC's current regulation of such groups, including 501(c) 4 non-profits, fails to uphold the standard Congress intended when it required the disclosure of politically related spending.

Quote
"The challenged regulation facilitates such financial 'routing,' blatantly undercuts the congressional goal of fully disclosing the sources of money flowing into federal political campaigns, and thereby suppresses the benefits intended to accrue from disclosure ... ," wrote Howell, an Obama appointee to the D.C district court. The decision is likely to be appealed.

The decision paves the way for new requirements that could force nonprofits to disclose donors who give least $200 toward influencing federal elections. (Social-welfare nonprofits such as Crossroads GPS are allowed to spend money on elections so long as it's not their "major purpose.")

Fec ruling that allowed anonymous donations was overturned. Good call, especially given that one of those non profits is currently under investigation.
