Vance is a good fit for the Trump ticket, and a heir-apparent to the MAGA movement. So in this sense, he's a good pick. Electorally, he's more of a mixed bag. He might marginally help in the pivotal Rust Belt battlegrounds, but probably does nothing to help in the Sun Belt. His economic policies and foreign policy views might also alienate some traditional Republicans. And his 2022 senate race was also mildly underwhelming.

All in all, I would say that Trump's chances of winning the election go down ever so slighthly with Vance on the ticket - but if he wins, the chances of his second term becoming a success have gone up.

I don't believe he brings anything to the table and his past comments are concerning. I'd rather it been Tulsi, Nikki, Tim, Rubio or even JFK. They all had a better chance of uniting the country.

He's an Ohio senator and young, IMO the calculus might simply be Trump wanting to carry a swing state like Ohio. I probably would of preferred someone like Tulsi (good to pair with a woman) or Vivek (good to pair with a Brown person)

Tulsi has genuinely leftist beliefs in too many policy fields. And in terms of foreign policy, she is friendly with too many shady figures and enemies of America.
Vivek would imho not play well with older voters.

Trump is more popular in Ohio than Vance, also, if Trump has any trouble winning that state this November, then he was already losing the overall election decisively anyway.

Vance is the "double down on MAGA"-pick. That's what it imho comes down to. He's a staunch, loyal ally who shares Trump's vision for the country and the party. And like I've said: this way, the MAGA movement has a heir apparent for when Trump is termed out and rides off into the sunset.

These foreign policy views need to change, just because some shit hole country gets invaded on the other side of the world we have to give them hundreds of billions of dollars.
A completely retarded take, once more as if spending all that money in the first place wasn't irresponsible enough in the first place, the advanced shit we spent it on is now deemed worthless from its performance in the conflict.
What's that going to cost us?

Vance doesn’t balance the ticket much although policy wise it’s adding strengths (a lot like how Clinton and Gore were, strengthening the strengths). The big angle is his age especially compared to Biden and his VP Trump; he’s a millennial!

They both are better suited for more important positions that actually do things. Dare say Tulsi for Sec Def and Vivek for SEC Chair or Treasury Sec.

Trump is old though, there's always a chance he croaks in the next 4 years. I rather have someone like Vivek backdoor his way into POTUS vs Vance, but oh well, it is what it is.
