idk i'm probably biased since i mod for a billion sub reddits, but i don't really think its a matter of being proud. sometimes people spend a lot of time on a specific site or place and want to help out, and being a mod/whatever it is here mediator is how that shows up.

i could just be way off the mark and they could be a gigantic asshole or something though, i literally know nothing about the person and am just projecting my own experiences. I do feel a little bad seeing them get randomly roasted though.

i do know what you mean and have seen that kind of moderation style first hand and i don't like it either. i spend a lot of time making sure whenever i add new mods theyre not weird, too. im very light handed and empathetic with how i do stuff on reddit which isn't really normal. idk anyways who gaf.

I think this sub forum largely doesn't make the site any money, and it's kind of just there. like, it's not something theyre going to get rid of, but not something they really care about?

I really do think that a lot of mods came back for D2R, went ham, and then they might have just gone MIA and now the management team is like "what the fuck where is everyone" and trying to check for activity.

A lot of people won't want to lose their mod role, and they'll just come back in force abruptly when something like that happens and GC is a cash cow for removals. Like basically everything can be removed here and it's not a place the site really "cares" about. I'm sure they do it's just a really low priority.

So I think personally people are just sniping mod removal actions here to show theyre alive still... and if that's the case I feel like maybe those mod removals shouldnt be weighted as much on whatever matrix they use to check for mod activity because it's killing GC.
