why not both?

allow doctors to prescribe it only in certain settings, rather than having 3/4 of the supply get removed as "just in case" medicine for friends of doctors who might not even have COVID. and Lupis patients can still get it.

Last I heard, Lupus patients aren't getting it because their providers are reserving it for CV19 use (like Kaiser).

"Allow doctors..." sounds dangerously close to stepping into the doctor-patient relationship. Do we, or do we not trust doctors to make medically sound decisions for their patients?

do we trust dentists to make desicions well outside of their specialty to hoard medicine just in case for family? no, because that would be silly.

do i trust a doctor, generally, to make a better decision for a population than for their own friends and family? no, because that would be silly.

doctors arent saints, they're people who are as scared as anyone with family to look out for, and their relationship with patients isnt inherently above interference. this isn't a privacy issue, its a supply chain issue that could cost lives. them giving away medicine to people not even sick at the cost of lives, in ignorance because its not even in their practice's specialty, breaks the NAP.

step 1: stop the scripts
step 2: reissue script permission where it's needed
step 3: find and fuck these dentists with a sharp object, but not too sharp.

These two governors aren't detailing their orders, they've banned the use of a drug with great potential from being prescribed at all.

are you really not seeing a pattern of chaotic control measures in real time that are then softened or at the least less vaguely outlined a few days later? or even a week later?

social distancing changed to soft quarantines, changed to restaurant/bar closures, changed to hard quarantine, changed to stay in lock down. thats my state, in a week. but you want what? a perfectly crafted plan for which doctors among dozens of specialties will be allowed to prescribe a medicine that we're short on that hasn't cleared medical trials but is 100% needed for lupis patients?

its almost like you are asking for a much larger, broad reaching, and efficient government than i'd ever have dreamed you even approve of, much less advocate for. either that or you want the buddies of dentists to get 3/4 of the supply and have it rot in medicine cabinets unused. odd....
