sigh, you're missing the point. There is literally no such thing as voter fraud/voter impersonation, so all these laws do is make it harder for the less privileged to vote... you do realize that probably a good majority that were turned away to vote probably had no idea about these new voter ID laws? not because they're uninterested in participating in our democracy, but because they don't have the means to find out about this stuff...

lol... isnt there a ton of debate right now about russian meddling with our elections? arent there a lot of efforts going on to make our elections safer and less vulnerable for russian fuckery? yes.
and how much proof which would stand up in court has there been to justify these efforts? zero? yes, I thought so.

the democrats are pushing efforts to make our elections safe against russian tampering without court-valid proof, simply because there are indications for such attempts and because the fear of russian interference is logically justifiable.
the republicans are pushing efforts to make our elections safe against voter impersonation without court-valid proof, simply because there are indications for such attemps and because the fear of voter impersonation is logically justifiable.

getting the photo ID or whatever is required in wisconsin is a one-time investment. a one-time investment that is justified by the reasonable intention of keeping the election clean and safe.

your argument is like saying "having a polling station every [X] miles is discriminatory against old, immobile voters who cant walk [X] miles; and it's discrimination against the poorest voters who cant afford the trip there, since it would cost [Y] dollars for the bus ticket or car fuel".

It's not a one-time investment since it needs to be renewed.

It also won't stop anything other than in-person voter ID, which barely occurs so it isn't a justified requirement.

170 IQ

Sorry, I live in a first world country where the official language is ENGLISH, not Arabic or French.

But, given my 170 IQ, I could easily perfect my French to a level better than yours within a couple of months. Feels good to be the smartest .002% of the population.

It only needs renewed every 4 years, which is BS as far as I'm concerned. There's no need for JUST a photo ID needing to be renewed every 4 years unless there was some serious change in a person's looks.
And it will keep dead folk from voting, and people voting in more than one state.

It would also keep illegals from voting as well.

if you can't distinguish the difference between domestic voter fraud (which I just showed you is virtually nonexistent and you chose to ignore) and foreign voter tampering (which is an actual real thing, as seven states were breached by Russians including including California, Florida, Illinois and Texas) than you are hopeless...

I really dont see the discrimination in those voter ID laws - they even allow expired documents for college students and native americans.

TIL that all intelligence agencies and the vast majority of politicians across party lines agree that voter impersonation is a serious threat to your elections... have any more false equivalences that you want to copy-paste from /r/the_donald?
