Derek Chauvin got not only convicted, but the judge ignored all sentencing guidelines and precedent with presumptive downward departure and gave him one of the 0.01% of Minnesota felonies with upward departure.
There's no shortage of people in this thread who think Kyle is clearly innocent, but how many of you recognize that he'll probably be convicted, anyway?
Always expected he'd walk out with a conviction of some sort. My suspicion before was the minor in possession charge.
Now I think there's a couple possibilities. If the Prosecution effectively uses their 2.5 hour closing to argue provocation, it's entirely possible the self defense case could fall apart, and Kyle could go off on murder charges.
If the defense case doesn't fall apart, but provocation is bought, then one of the lesser charges that were added.
Today didn't go well for Kyle.
