I actually don't think USA is bad per say. I mean it is what it is.

By the way If we are talking about Iraq / Afghanistan and Vietnam . As much as people think it is objectively evil . Not to mention Arab Spring and Central America.

We in South East Asia have to thank you for Vietnam and Iraq / Afghan and the Chinese are for thankful for you getting involved in the Second Iraq War and Afghan occupation.
Now this is the truth, and they honestly thank you for it. Not a snide remark at all.

You don't get hated on because " realistically " you can take on the whole world. You get hated on because of interference and your government trying to put herself on a moralistic high ground when she is not.
Sort of like practice what you preach kinda thing.

You just look at your domestic issues right now and look at all those debates on Pard. You have a problem.

Furthermore when it comes to Asia especially China and India. They look at history and they look at what you did to Japan. They are not going to like you very much. And when I said what you did to Japan , I am not talking about the Atomic Bombs and WW2.

we have debates about whether trans laws hurt too many feelings.

you have debates that are scrubbed from the internet about whether locking down an entire city overnight is ok, whether a social credit score should force you to leave a city because of lack of a job and house, and whether uyghurs still have both kidneys in the prison camp they'll die in.

the idea they're even on the same level morally, discounting our high ground, is absurd.

Nah its alot more than that.
I give u a break down from what I am actually sure of
Percentage in population

China : 70%
India : 60%
North Korea : 30 % ( They actually want to break free from Dictator Kim )
Russia : 30 %

Here is what I am sure of in South East Asia

Malaysia : 60 %
Vietnam : 50 %
Indonesia : 70%
Philippines : 30%
Thailand : 10 %
Singapore : Neutral
Brunei : 60 %
Myanmar : 30 %
Cambodia : 60 %
Laos : 30 %

East Asia

Taiwan : 20 %
Japan : 10 %
South Korea : 50 %

I haven't include the Mid East , Africa and Central and South America.

The above is a conservative calculation.

We all know they don't care or don't have the whole information.

Tiananmen, Mao Purges, Uyghurs, Tibet ... You should tell them, then check your bullshit poll after that.

That is how an authoritarian government works. I don't believe the Uyghur situation now. But lets put it this way, if it was 10 15 years back, and You are telling me the Uyghur situation , I can give u a nod.
We have the same sort of government control in Singapore as well less draconian as compared to China.

In regards to the social credit score, it was tested and they might scrap it . But what they were trying to do was exactly what my country did before in Singapore when technology wasn't that advanced.

I can understand your position, And I am pretty sure you haven't worked or traveled overseas in these countries enough to know their culture deep enough to understand why such rules or methods were used.
It is admirable that you think Americans and Chinese are pretty much on the same level of education and culture.

But please note that you and I grew up in very different culture and country.
My ideas and how I view politics and way of life is very close to this man , my Ex Prime Minister.

Here are some rather provocative quotes from him.

hey leave me out of squabbles!

you should just accept that some people do not hold the same view as you. provided they are not verbally abusing you it should be possible to have a semi civil conversation.

Sure, tell them all about Tiananmen, Mao Purges, Uyghurs, Tibet ... Imagine the scoundrels considering otherwise....
