How many steps does it take to get from "Trump enabling a mob to attack the Capitol in the midst of certifying an election" and "joking about an attempted assassination of Speaker Pelosi that ended with her husband getting beaten severely enough to get brain surgery" to something the right-wingers on this forum would take seriously?

The talk of civil war is unrealistic. But if the right-wing in this country are willing to tolerate this sort of stuff as long as a Democrat is the other name on the ballot, what's the inevitable result?

I just posted a clip of Kari Lake making fun of the incident. People in Arizona, much like right-wingers here who pretend they aren't Trumpists(and some who don't pretend), will support her in the election.

Pretending this guy is a leftist is part of the toleration. Instead of actually considering the evidence in a realistic way, as in, someone who posted left-wing views previously and more recently posted right-wing views(in the conspiracist, Trumpist nutter sense), should probably be considered motivated by the right, you play dumb and ignore the most recent evidence. I don't know if you guys are too dumb, or too motivated by your political beliefs, or a combination of the two, but you don't get a pass for believing in clear nonsense.

Another aspect of tolerating this sort of violent right-wing extremism is to turn it into a media derangement story, where you pretend it's some potential conspiracy and pretend that the media isn't asking questions about what happened. The inevitable result is your deranged conspiracies are unfounded and the obvious reality is backed up by more facts(like the recent police reports on this particular incident).

Facing the reality of what happened might spur some self-reflection about what dangerous rhetoric you guys deploy towards your political foes. But as I said with the January 6th insurrectionists... if the rhetoric is true, the actions make perfect sense. If the election was actually stolen, it makes sense to try to take back the country by storming the Capitol. If Pelosi is an evil woman drinking the blood of children in a lawless land, killing her would be justified. The problem is that those are both delusions, and poisoned minds like yourself, Fox News viewers, and this weirdo in San Francisco believe it.

You seem to be reacting emotionally, not with arguments.

Maybe I'm forgetting, but I don't recall any serious Democratic candidates or Democratic politicians making fun of Steve Scalise for getting shot by a left-winger. I don't remember prominent Dem senators tweeting about conspiracy theories surrounding the incident(like Ted Cruz did with Pelosi's husband getting beaten to near death). I'm pretty sure if the candidate for governor in a major swing state like Arizona made fun of Scalise getting shot, they'd get major shit by Democrats. But Kari Lake doing it will either be met with silence or lulz by Republicans in Congress and in the media.

It's true that there's political violence on both sides. The difference is Republicans tolerate it, condone it, minimize it, make fun of it. Because there's a strong feeling on the right(which is driven from the bottom, the voters) that they enjoy seeing Democrats hurt or killed. Many of them wish they could do it themselves.
