The point wasn't the invention of fasting itself but how it was "enforced" by religion back then. Most people today don't fast because they couldn't be bothered.

P.S.: I am not religious.

Actually there is more people fasting today then ever before in known history.

But I dont wanna argue too hard with you, I basically share most of your opinions and views.

I havent made any claims at all.

Anyways, we should end this because there is no point in arguing with a creationist who is cherry picking scientific discoveries anymore.

You keep believing in talking Snakes, cursed apples and a creator who isnt able to create anything that is actually working properly and I continue to live my life.

thats correct ........all you did was make endless excuses and showed everyone how closed you are to even the most simple of things.

when you get your imagination and deep time sorted out come back and school us on how abiogenesis and "macro" evolution works.
when you get it together maybe you can do a better job explaining it than this guy

So your main argument against religion is the world isnt perfect so he must not exist. And all arguments against you have been "nonsense"

Anyone siding with this guy must be just as lost.

I never said god does 100% not exist, i cant disproof his existence.
I said that nothing points to his existence.
So my argument against religion is, that it is just a claim as any other claim without any hint or evidence to verify its truth.
God is just as likely as anything else I would pull out of my ass. Its basically impossible to disproof pretty much anything if it doesnt exist.

No one can disproof pink elephants as well, but the fact that we havent seen one so far strongly points to its non-existence.

Its pretty easy to fill out every gap in our knowledge with god. People always did that until we found better explanations. They still do it.
Instead of trying to proof god through evidence for his existence, he is a gap filler most of the time for most people.

So the claim is: God exists and I challenge that claim.

Thats all.

Havent heard any plausible argument in favor of god so far. But if you have one, go ahead.

So because I dont know how it works therefor god? Anything you cant explain otherwise is explained by an omnipotent being. Pretty comfy, dont you think?

How about you actually care about some proof for gods existence instead of showing me were he would be a nice explanation.

Just because you dont know something, doesnt mean that god is the explanation.

"I dont know" is always an option. We cant know everything. If you wanna fill every gap of human knowledge with god than do it. I dont care about your nonsensical arguments anymore.

You sound foolish trying to argue that God doesnt exist because we dont have his DNA? If I claimed I did have his DNA, I presume that would be "non-sense" like all other arguments made here attempting to point out that God exists through belief solely.

Some people are happy being scientific mistakes.

Some people think theyre life is sacred or at least have meaning at all, and use to religion to prove to themselves and their God that it's valuable to respect that gift. And choose to view life as a gift and strive to treat others as gifts that deserve respect.

His DNA? Well it wouldnt have to be that specific, but I get what you say*lol

God is still the only significant thing people believe without any hint of evidence.

If you tell me your age or height, I would probably belive you without evidence, because its probably plausible and also doesnt effect me, so I just take your word. If it would be an extraordinary claim, I wouldnt just believe you, I would ask for evidence.

So if the claim is that there is some entity that is responsable for everything I wanna know if its true before i wanna care about it of course.

Its always funny when people say they chose to believe....you cant choose to believe something...you either believe something or not

Of course you choose what to believe. I could choose to believe that Buddism benefits me more than the other religions and begin practising Buddism. Do I whole-hearted believe what they teach is literal fact, no. Thats where this argument is pointless if your quest to scientifically "prove" religion is a prerequisite to your belief.

The stories are fiction but offer models for how to behave when you are self-conflicted.

there is no "God of the gaps" thats just some antitheist horsechit statement they never back up.
why should i do any more of your challenges? i have already showed you to be false. heck you cant even admit to one little singular truth.
it was HEARD IN SCRIPTURE FIRST

Genesis 3:14
“And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field;upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:”

Apart from "you choose what you believe" I absolutely can accept that answer. I get your point, its a good one.
