You realize that there is the possibility that your dad could have some sort of facility for computer-related stuff, whereas I don't, right? Or maybe he had someone next to him to ask questions, for example, maybe you or your sibling helped him when he ran into problems.

I actually don't have any learning disability. And I have tried hard, but I just can't hack it. It just looks and sounds very difficult and intimidating. I really need someone next to me to guide me and help me with any questions I might have.

He has none of those things. You think I don't know my own dad? lol

You are basically just admitting to being weak willed. I must admit, I hadn't considered that you're just a weak-willed person who can't handle even the most basic tasks due to your fragility. If that is the case, then I'm sorry, but the internet just isn't for you. You should probably retreat to a safe space and let the adults talk.

If you want me to talk to you, I suggest you cut out the insults. I have been courteous with you so far. I don't need people telling me how I am "weak-willed", "fragile", or needing "a safe space". Keep your judgments to yourself, no matter how apt you think they are.

Let's talk like civilized human beings....if you are capable of such a thing.

what do you have????

The NYT has a page that shows the % that vaccinated people comprise out of total Covid hospitalizations:

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/08/10/us/covid-breakthrough-infections-vaccines.html

Vaccinated people comprise only .01 - 5% of all hospitalizations, depending on state.

I am not judging you. I am taking the logical conclusion of what you are saying.

You need your hand held even when there's plenty of discord servers, online communities, and free material to learn from, and an even greater abundance of paid material you could learn from. That means you either have a learning disability, or you are simply too weak to take responsibility for your own education. I get it, learning is hard. Self-motivating is hard. Problem solving is hard. and if you are too weak to stick it out and do it, then you should not try to come on the internet and argue with people who do have that capacity. You should sit down and listen to the experts on the topic, and do very little thinking for yourself until you develop the spine to learn.

Again, this is not a judging statement, it is a statement of fact about the scenario you are describing.

He does seem incapable of seeing beyond himself. He thinks other people who cannot learn certain subjects as easily as he did are all "pathetic". Very subjective and judgmental indeed.

This is a blatant mischaracterization of what I said.

I said people who don't learn subjects they are interested in despite having access to the internet either have a learning disability, or are weak-willed. Those are the two options when you have an abundance of resources, communities, and educational material at your finger tips.

The data is similarly reflected by the CDC. For the purposes of the NYT, they collected their data via the reporting that hospitals did to their respective state's Department of Health. It's as direct as one can reasonably get, as the data is coming directly from the hospitals themselves.

In terms of your West Virginia example, a 25% increase is an entirely relative statistic, meaning it has to be a 25% increase of X. The example you provided does not specify what the original X was/is.
