More money in the hands of people that spend it means if your business shuts its doors when you have hundreds to thousands of extra customers with money in their pockets you are a shithouse business owner.

you must not understand how problematic this is. the biggest sector with the lowest wages is retail and hospitality. yhe same sector that has taken major financial losses in 2020 due to covid. now they have to have additional upfront cost of paying more to employee for same job they were doing.

one of two things happens. A.) the cost of goods and services increases to compensate or B.) staff is reduced to absorb debt and current staff has to absorb their jobs

This is revisionist history lol.

Yes the Democrats are dragging their feet.

what is? there’s multiple links there quoting the candidates and the (d) party leaders. here are more

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna1252805

https://www.businessinsider.com/biden-georgia-senate-runoff-2000-stimulus-checks-immediately-2021-1?amp

https://www.kiplinger.com/taxes/602032/third-stimulus-check-biden-says-2000-checks-will-go-out-the-door-if-democrats-win-in-georgia?amp

i dont care either way. i dont qualify and i know politicians are quick to say one thing and do something else or do something stupid. this was the (D) pitch though they must send the checks sent out as they have full institutional control and power

Do you not understand that more money also goes to their customers?
If you are unable to increase sales when more money flows directly to your community why are you in business at all?

That's not how it works. The Walmarts and Amazons can afford the simply mass bulk purchase of goods that provides a profit even with $15/hour wages being paid to entry level positions. The small grocery can't. And let's face it, when the small grocery hikes up their prices by 50% so they don't go bankrupt over the increased wages, the customers all just go to Walmart/Amazon, because "more money from the customers" doesn't mean customers are willing to just hand all that money to you. Prices at Walmart and Amazon would be virtually unchanged. Go get more for cheaper.

The costs for the business increase by $ x / hr. The business only recuperates a fraction of $ x / hr in terms of additional revenue via consumption.

I've owned multiple businesses and never had any such issue paying well above award.

Entirely Irrelevant. Your personal claims of super awesomeness are every bit as useful as a week old steaming pile of shit.

Global corporations utilize the literal slave labor of nations like China, bulk purchase thousands of warehouses worth of product at pennies on the dollar. Doubling minimum wage will hit against not only basic retail/service jobs of businesses that sell locally sourced product, but production and supply chains as well.

When did you get so lazy you just stopped thinking before you post entirely? At this point, you really need to get an account rename to something more appropriate like "GlueSniffingWindowLickingPaintHuffer". Seriously Matt.

lets say the business is a consultation firm, a xhiropractic office, or some other small setup in which services rendered are directly time gated to the availability of the owner, they currenly have a receptionisy at 7.25 working 40 hours a week. just to answer phones run payments and just to generally be available.

now I need to psy them 15. Icant increase sales because i am fully booked and I dont want to let them go.

the only way to maintain my same profitability is to either cut the hours of the employee or increase cost of services
