Americans: if democrat and republican parties were to disappear, would two parties representing a democrat and a republican side rise in similar fashion? Or would the base for either party split into various parties? What if only the democratic party were to cease to exist? Would republican base branch out to more favorable sub parties? Or would republicans dominate statically? What if instead the republican party would cease to be, would democrats branch out? The fear for the other side in american politics has always puzzled me. Perhaps one of the parties should no longer be. For the good of the nation. Perhaps covid is blessing in disguise and takes out a significant portion of the republican base. One can dream

If Trump was really having trouble breathing or in worsening condition, like CNN reported earlier today, then I dont think they wouldhave put out such a concrete, positive statement.

I feel like Trump supporters are so stupid that, if there is inevitably a candlelight vigil for him, they won't even wear masks.

So the new narrative is that they need to open up because this proves that their precautions don't work, yet ignores the fact that they haven't actually been taking precautions. But I guess they forgot about the party where no one was wearing masks.

Was reading that for the debate everyone was supposed to get tested before, but Trump and co. showed up late and so the debate organizers defaulted to an 'honor system' thinking that they would have coordinated getting themselves tested before arriving to the debate.
