It doesn't really apply to the KKK though because they have specific leadership, record keeping, etc. etc. There was a KKK meeting hall a few towns over from where I grew up.
in reality the KKK has about as much national leadership and common agreed upon goals as Antifa, that is vague platitudes "stop capitalism" = "kill jew bankers", "end police violence" = "stop race mixing", etc.
but the control is state level, the national KKK leader is just a figurehead for hate. someone who can inspire with vague words, not specific plans. when you look at state by state or even county by county they differ wildly on what they think the plan should be. how violent. which races are actually a problem. etc.
its actually very similar to Antifa or BLM in that regard. likeminded separate groups that disagree on a spectrum with what specific plans are good plans, and a lot of overlap.
