Marriage has become far less popular here, especially because the whole idea of it ("stay together forever") has proven to not really be enforced by marriage at all. And that's because a lot of their parents or their friends' parents are divorced. At this moment the people I know mostly marry because of tax reasons, not because it somehow affirms your love and dedication to each other.
