The US did torture people to get Bin Laden regardless of that films veracity. Whether it was a deciding factor in confirming his location, we'll never know. They're called CIA "blacksites" for a reason. It's probably a good thing we don't know much about how the CIA runs these facilities, because the US operates units far more secret and far more lethal than just CIA torturers (US Army's ISA assassin's for example).
