And your arguments are all purely "Well what if..." statements that have been addressed no less than three times. As Widow said, he never let his son go into a bathroom until he was old enough to fend for himself just in case there was someone in there with malicious intentions. The obvious solution, first stated by Handcuffs, is to keep doing what you're already doing -- go into the genderless bathroom with your child. Hypothesized disaster averted.

...I think I will remain in my little corner of Ohio where the public bathrooms are labeled Men or Women and everyone knows what that means , even at McDonalds .

I appreciate your acknowledgement that that is an irrefutable solution to your fear of genderless bathrooms.

Perhaps it's not only about protecting my children, but also those of parents who are more laissez faire such as yourself. Yeah, I know, it's hard concept to grasp, but some of us do care about others.

What's with the veiled accusations, btw?

Again, please state explicitly your reasons (other than potential sex offenders preying on your child) for being against unisex bathrooms. What inherent harm is there about the presence of a man (not in the act of sexually harrassing your child, but just taking a piss in a stall) in a public restroom that may or may not contain a girl?

I'm actually interested in what women say about genderless bathrooms. I have a strong feeling that most women do not want to be in the same bathroom as men.

As to the guys who support genderless bathrooms...why the fuck would you want less urinals in your bathroom?

I've yet to see a legitimate reason to have genderless bathrooms. Why change something that's not broken?

Gee, it couldn't be because:
1) People drive (much) more overall time than they use public restrooms
2) More parents accompany their children in public restrooms
3) They are completely unrelated in both nature (accident vs. crime)

Nah, that'd be too easy.

1. so? Drive as little as possible to avoid the risk or not at all.
2. Guess that means there won't be a problem with unisex restrooms doesn't it?
3. so? Death is death whether it was caused intentionally or not. The end-result for the victim is the same.

Unisex bathrooms are not something I insist on being a reality. I do state that there is nothing inherently wrong with them.

I was talking to a lady familiar with them and she said that herself and every other female friend were very uncomfortable with unisex bathrooms when they were growing up .

Personally I was uncomfortable with all public restrooms when I was growing up. Ban them all?

There is no practical difference, though no matter your reason for arguing against genderless bathrooms, your argument has been addressed completely in a way that made sense to you. That's probably why you're backing down, so that you don't risk changing your worldview in the face of a logical argument that you don't have a counterpoint for.
