Let's pay close attention to Goom's post. He's basically arguing that Trump's criminality deserves a pass because to treat his behavior fairly under the law would produce a bad outcome with his supporters.
How is this different from somebody from the mob claiming a prosecution of their boss would result in consequences? He's leveraging the nutjob mob Trump has with him to try to pressure prosecutors to not follow the facts and enforce the rule of law.

Once conservatives get crazy enough, and for the entire time I've been following politics they've been getting crazier with no reversal, then Democracy becomes a way to validate power instead of a way of acquiring power.
