I think this is a great example of how Kavanaugh's testimony so far is ramping up polarization. His fiery, angry demenaor and his case against "guilty until proven innocent" will resonate positively with republicans, and negatively with democrats.

But I'm sceptical that it will be helping him with moderates, in particular Collins and Murkowski.

Kavanaugh isn't center-right. He's solidly conservative. Most estimates are that he's more conservative than Alito but less than Thomas.
