I dont disagree that white collar crime is often times not punished hard enough, but ... am I the only one who didnt see this reference to white collar crime in the first post?

Thought the lobbyist position would make it clear

The 5 witnesses given immunity in the Manafort trial were identified, and none are public figures, no Tony Podesta. Thats both a great thing that at least should clear up some of the accusations of bias against Mueller, though in the low bar sense of the 'he didnt do something flagrant'. It also pisses over the bad reporting from those who claimed it was the case

Trump(via press sec) threatening to revoke the security clearances of former Obama, Bush, and his own admin officials for no apparent reason beyond conspiracy theories and the fact that they criticize him on television.

Clearly reaching a new level of unhinged and attempting to distract.

But hey, the media is so biased because they cover shit like this.

Funny that they included McCabe on the list when he was already stripped of his clearance.
They also had Comey and his clearance was revoked as well.

You'd think they'd check before issuing a statement about something like this, heh.

This represents a huge expansion of the spoils system. Winners of elections get to strip political clearances of their enemies' subordinates for arbitrary reasons unrelated to national security.

It is a hell of a precedent to set. It is like when the nuclear option opened up in the Senate; every party not in power regrets it. And the system is set up to vacillate between the parties and prevent third parties from rising....so everyone gets fucked half the time (at least) except the 1%.

I'm pretty sure the president has the power to do this but I'm not an authority.

He can, but it doesn't really mean anything. McCabe and Comey no longer have clearance to begin with. Hayden doesn't receive intelligence briefings anymore. I doubt the other ones are too concerned about it.

It does indeed set a bad precedent. On the other hand, the ferocity with which former officials from Trump's predecessors are publicly agitating against him and his administration is really unprecedented as well.
