You know what’s sad? Nobody would have still been posting in a Gore vs Bush thread in 2002. Nobody would have still been posting in a Bush vs Kerry thread in 2006.. etc etc. Hillary really triggers the shit out of you guys.

It’s transcended into a PaRD general discussion. Keep up

so apparently you can revoke the citizenship status of brown people now to deport them
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/07/23/us/denaturalize-citizen-immigration.html

so according to your article, she assisted in scamming a federal US bank of $24m before taking her oath of citizenship, which she was granted under the premise that she had not been involved in criminal activity. she lied, and was granted citizenship based on this lie.
and now you want to tell us that it's "racist" to revoke her citizenship because, according to you, "it's because she is brown", and not because she is a felon who obtained her citizenship based on a lie?!? u serious?

on the individual case do you think deporting is the way to go on this case and those similar to this?

personally I usually oppose most crackdowns like this because although crackdowns tend to be effective they also get shitty and overall it really doesn't benefit anyone

There are ways to punish (financially or community service imo) that are more ethical but also just make more sense when it comes to use of resources

I agree, if she has been a law-abiding citizen ever since, I would probably prefer something like 1000 hours of community service. But deportation is absolutely justifiable in a case like this.

If she was white she would have been given a lobbyist position.

When it comes to criminal activity, citizens and non-citizens are treated differently; it's really that simple. And there's nothing wrong with that, at least when it comes to violent crime or white crime of massive scale (i.e.: not when an immigrant kid steals a lollipop at the candy store...)

I was joking about white collar crime often getting punishments and fines that are less than the profit of the crime.

I'm a bit unclear on the details of what she actually did

I see it says she (at no profit to herself) helped her boss with possible bank paperwork or something for the fraud

and her punishment (before this)seems to support my hunch that it wasn't something grand on her part despite them dropping the 24 million in the article

I'm curious how serious the details are

to me I'm not sure this couldn't be resolved in a non deporting way either

I dont disagree that white collar crime is often times not punished hard enough, but ... am I the only one who didnt see this reference to white collar crime in the first post?
