most people simply dont care which porn stars trump was fucking over a decade ago. does it make the religious right look like hypocrites? for sure. but everyone knows that trump is the closest thing they'll get to enacting their policy agenda. trump is the only thing standing between them and ultimate defeat on every policy front.

When they slapped RT with foreign agent status, it meant that Jesse Ventura, Ed Schultz, Larry King, etc all became unregistered foreign agents overnight. A retired governor and law abiding citizen is actually prohibited from participating in his government.
Honestly, Mueller and the FBI using FARA to go after Manafort / Butina / RT should set off civil libertarian alarm bells. Theres a reason nobodies ever actually been (/e successfully) prosecuted under the act since 1966, its violates half the amendments of the constitution. Overly vague, restricts expression, selectively enforced, you name it. At least it doesn't force you to quarter any soldiers. One of the last people they went after was the McCarthy-era FBI using it on an 83 year old W.E.B. Du Bois in 1951, instead of just assassinating him like they did every other uppity negro.
