funny coming from a guy who continues to deflect and dodge any questions about his stance against making rich folks pay their share of taxes
blah blah blah obamacare
blah blah blah entitlement
blah blah blah food stamps
blah blah blah obamaphone
are you ever going to defend your position here?
Alright, lets sit down them...
The problem isn't the rate of taxes on the rich. Its the rules of engagement in the economy today. The fact is that our laws are set up to reward people for taking unfair measures.
People that can afford fancy lawyers to interpret
80,000 page tax codes pay far lower percent of taxes than the rest of the population.
If these loopholes were eliminated in one way or another, the government revenue would increase and there would be a purely proportional tax code that would in the end be better for all of society.
Personally I'm against progressive taxes (higher percent as your income goes up), because allowing the rich to put their money back into the economy does more for the growth of a nation then funneling it into a government which honestly has no idea what its doing at this point in time. In a government organization, if you don't spend all of your allocated money you are
penalized. HUUGe waste of money from anybody's point of view. I don't see why we should marginalize and be petty with rich people who, for the most part, provide very valuable services to society. ie: Do you honestly think capital gains tax helps anyone is this country? If anything, it crucifies self-employed skilled laborers and the such.
Look anywhere as well. The United States has higher taxes on the rich than any other country in the world.
