I had already thought of the same tbh. Well... no. I think it's no coincidence that team Mueller issued the indictments at this specific date, but imho the intention of him or his deep state instigators was to tie Trump's hands and force him to abandon his course of playing it soft with Putin/Russia and go for a confrontational approach instead. I dont think Mueller expected Trump to be stupid enough to just run into the trap and completely fuck himself up.
I will say this much: The US intelligence community is way too powerful. It's essentially become an unchecked 4th branch of government.
I believe our intelligence community misled the American people in the aftermath of 9/11 as it pertains to weapons of mass destruction. Their efforts, unverified by the UN, helped lead to overwhelming public support for one of the worst foreign policy decisions our country has ever made..
I rewatched some of the Congressional hearings from this week. Peter Strzok refusing to answer Congressional questions after being subpoeaned on the basis of FBI secrecy was gross to me. I understand there is FBI policy regarding ongoing investigations, but of course the FBI doesn't want this dude to answer Congress' answers in good faith - it would make them look awful. Strzok was an embarrassment.
Throw that in with how Comey clearly botched the entire 2016 election - from the non-indictment to the letter, and the FBI looks very much like an incompetent and politicized organization right now.
I'm gravely concerned for our country. We've got an intelligence community that's way too powerful and out of control, a media that cannot reliably cover any political topic, and a demagogic President who knows exactly the right buttons to push to manipulate all of this chaos to his advantage. Our institutions are failing us, our checks and balances are failing, and most of all, our people are failing us.
