Uh, oh. I guess the hysterical lefties are out in force tonight.

Most of us aren't hysterical lefties and many of us differ in our political beliefs

I've personally seen ZERO proof that Russia hacked our election. I've seen a lot of accusations, but no proof.

You have no interest in proof or fact which is exactly why you make this identical statement about every single thing that doesn't fit your views

Trump really scored an own goal today. I dont believe the kompromant theory though.

Imho, Trump is just so narcissistic and insecure that he cannot possibly look at the accusations of russian meddling in the 2016 election with a cool head. He sees those accusations as undermining his greatest victory, his election triumph in 2016, and thus questioning the legitimacy of his very presidency.

Not seeing how easy it would have been for him to come out of today's summit with a net neutral reaction from the public, by going somewhat but not strongly against Putin, and how he could even have scored political points by just pretending to confront Putin in a tough manner, really shows how shitty his political instincts sometimes are. :wallbash:

I think the kompromat/collusion theory is likely, but honestly the theory you laid out is just as likely... maybe more likely. Also I'd say Trump is extremely skeptical of the intelligence community and parts of the law enforcement community.

I don't know if you read it, but I outlined to you a few days ago all he had to do to get some approval from me and a portion of the media figures, which is to confront Putin on some key issues. That doesn't mean you have to make it the central issue(s) of the summit, but at least stand firm. It's like Trump can't utilize points of leverage with Putin... doesn't sound like a negotiator.

Today, the world watched Mr. Trump publicly collude with Vladimir Putin to conceal Russia’s attack on our democracy. For the sake of our country and its safety, now is the time to #ImpeachTrump.

Yep, yep. During those talks Trump gave away our launch codes, and the blueprints to the launch sites. He gave away the IP addresses of every politician and intelligence actor in the US.
He also gave Putin all the hacks that will work on all our infrastructure servers. He even gave Russia complete access to the Library of Congress, so they could rewrite history.

/e Almost forgot. He gave away the real identities of every one of our agents, locally and in the field. And the means to hack our stock market and our economy.

String the bum up.

/ee So if I understand things correctly, you're all mad because he was truthful with our allies, and because he smiled and lied through his teeth to our enemies? Have I got that right?

That's a silly message though, because the potent outrage today isn't about him simply taking a meeting with Putin. It's the many ridiculous things he said.

It's not politics. Just stand up for this country and speak the fucking truth. Obama was able to confront Putin on election interference... why can't Trump?

he ‘confronted’ him by telling him to cut it out? sort of like a red line? and then believed he would do so?

>Where are our military folks ? The Commander in Chief is in the hands of our enemy!
>>BREAKING: Trump just said he trusted Putin over the American military and the American intelligence services, in the assessment of election interference. He absolutely needs to resign. What a complete and utter disgrace. Absolutely disgusting. What a traitor. #TreasonSummit

our IC (which the lefties trashed from 2000-2017) is certain putin was and is hacking US elections. it is high-time to indict him along with the other russian hackers and drag him kicking and screaming before a grand jury in America. Pres Obama himself said to us putin was up to no good. have him extradited (along with the other russians) to USA to stand trial for his actions. Go for the head, dont step on toenails that can easily be replaced. The Special Counsel must do this.

the funny thing is that even of all of that were true, you'd find a new set of criteria that were not reached, thus 'proving' your cult leader's innocence. 'well, he didn't offer melania as food for putin's pet bear, and he didn't publicly lick his soles on the red square, wearing only ivan drago's shorts... check mate, dems and rinos!'

There were other actions as well... some cyber ones which weren't made public. Also after the election he imposed consequences... you'd know that if you understood the Russia investigation. The CIA director at the time said after Obama warned Putin, the attacks diminished. America is stronger than Russia, we have the leverage.

On the second portion, good to see Trump's lowest point matched by Excellence's silly defense. Lol

yes, I read it and agree. It wasnt difficult for trump to do the bare minimum today, and he didnt, for whatever reason.

In the end, no matter if the media frenzy is justfied or hysterical, today was a disastrous outcome for Trump. For perhaps the first time in his presidency, he went into a high-stakes situation where he had to be, or to at least act, tough, and failed to do so. Today, he looked weak, and that's the one impression Trump cannot afford to give. His entire campaign and presidency, his entire "gimmick" are built around being an "alpha, a tough guy, a master negotiator, someone who fights hard and grinds it out for America, unlike the weaksauce pussy politicians who came before him".

Today, he didnt just inflict damage on his reputation, which is quite bad to begin with and on which he doesnt really rely - no, he also inflicted damage on his brand, and that's something that will really hurt him politically in the long run.

You're right he didn't. He did absolutely nothing at all. Trump said long ago, that the US govt. has decided to stop broadcasting it's intentions to enemies, on the world stage. Looks to me like that's exactly what just happened.

What exactly would Trump accomplish by yelling at and embarrassing Putin? Do you folks think that Russia is under ANY delusion, that they can overpower or out think us?
This isn't a case of street or playground rep, we are discussing here.

So why should the US, warn Putin that we are going to oppose them on every front? You're right, that would be... stooooooooopid. :/
