it's the same mental exercise the right tried to do with mccain (or bush, or any republican not seeking re-election and therefore speaking out against captain bonespur): no, he has NOT suddenly turned into a hero for progressives - he's still a hawk with terrible policy ideas - that has not changed, but at least he has SOME kind of principle, decency, and american values to oppose putin's puppet and its incompetence and complete lack of class and humanity.
