TIL it was actually hamas that told millions of already severely deprived palestinians that they have to leave their homes within hours if they don't want to get blown to smithereens, and that it is actually hamas that controls gaza's land- and sea- borders, as well as its airspace and its resources. silly me thought that was israel and the IDF...

Yeah, the relationship between Gaza and Hamas will need to change. How that will happen, I don't know.
will be difficult to impossible. israel's brutal airstrikes have already created a massive death toll amongst palestinian civilians. hamas could not have asked for a better recruitment tool.
like i said in previous posts: extremists like hamas had the lowest support when israel's occupation was felt the least, when the IDF did not regularly abduct and brutalise palestinians at random, when they didn't threaten and kill reporters, when israel did not push their settlements into palestinian territory, and sealed their wells in the middle of a heat wave, and when they didn't severely restrict resources and activities in the occupied territories - and crucially,
before netanyahu actively supported hamas in order to prevent more moderate voices to lead.
again, the notion that palestinians support radicals because hatred and terrorism is somehow in their nature, in their genes, is absurd - that's just racist hogwash perpetuated by the pro-occupation crowd in order to deflect from the main reason: israel's ongoing illegal occupation. that has to change before you can realistically expect the support for radicals to abate...
