the real issue here is: every outlet published ridiculous or stupid articles once in a while. some more, some less, some apologise and retract, some don't.

however, it's an obvious strategy of the right to discredit and delegitimise everything they do by acting like those instances as representative of their standard. the whole 'fake news' and 'paid shills' narrative is based on that, and it's incredibly effective (especially with generally uninformed and less intelligent people) if you look at how little trust americans have in media in general nowadays (while almost completely accepting everything from the objectively much more biased outlets in their own echo chamber)...

goom-shill is clearly playing this game here, pointing out a somewhat ridiculous article and concluding therefore politifact are just 'hacks' and 'paid shills'... the irony...

Except Goom didn't try to use Politifact's bias as an indictment of journalism in general. Let's not adopt the Trump cult tactics of minimizing and delfecting... the article Goom posted is pretty ridiculous and this isn't the first time Politifact has made a mistake like this.

and why is the "fake news" and "paid shills" narrative super effective?
right, because the liberal media continues to give it new fodder on an almost daily basis. many mainstream news outlets dont even attempt to hide their blatant and massive anti-trump bias. and then, when the trump administration or his supporters call them out on this bias, they cry wolf and accuse team trump of unfairly trying to undermine their credibility, and his supporters for being stupid/uneducated for falling for it.

and just for the record: of course team trump is trying to undermine the trump-critical media's credibility. but if they played it fair and provided objective, unbiased coverage instead of regularly giving in to their seething hatred for everything trump, those attempts would fall completely flat.

Lately, like since Trump won, I'd have to go with "paid shills".

I mean we all know reporters and news casters have their own biases, we all do. But MSM has been so outrageously bad since Trump won, I'm beginning to think there is a lot more than just ordinary bias going on with MSM.
I wonder what it will be called if it ever gets proven? Papergate, Mediagate, Newsgate?

he did exactly what i described in the post you just quoted: he took this article and acted like it was representative of all politifact articles, concluding they can be rightfully dismissed as 'hacks' and 'paid shills'. i would agree if he said it's a ridiculous and biased article, but he went the extra step to perpetuate the 'fake news' narrative concerning outlets critical of his emperor - i think that's a pretty significant distinction to make...

When a "fact check" website keeps making these mistakes, they lose credibility. This isn't a CNN opinion article, it's supposed to be an objective fact check.

Well, on to something that actually matters...

Top U.S. Senate Democrat vows to fight Trump's Supreme Court pick

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The top U.S. Senate Democrat on Tuesday vowed an all-out fight against President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee as Judge Brett Kavanaugh headed to Capitol Hill seeking support, with Democrats aiming to seize on the confirmation battle ahead of the November midterm election.

“I will oppose this nominee with everything that I’ve got,” Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer told MSNBC the morning after Trump announced the conservative federal appeals court judge as his nominee for the lifetime position on the nine-member high court.

White House spokesman Raj Shah, asked whether that could slow the confirmation, said he expected Kavanaugh to be approved within about two months, just like previous Supreme Court nominees. The court’s new term begins in October.

“Democrats are going to look for any reason that they can poke and find to try to delay this nomination,” Shah told reporters, calling a 66-day timeline “a pretty good benchmark.”

I wonder how many days these confirmation hearing can encompass before they change from being a method to make sure of SC appointees, to just plain stalling.
In this case, I feel that Schumer, is just stalling. Possibly he has some hope that this appointment or his "fighting it with everything he has" stalling will influence voters before November 6th.

I'm not even sure that Senators are allowed to disqualify appointments, based on what they "might" do. I always thought these hearings were limited to what the appointees have already done.
Either way, I'm getting out my waders, cause the Democrap is about to get seriously deep.
