Although liberals did reeee over Gorsuch, they were generally more upset with the process by which the vacancy in the Supreme Court was handled and filled. Gorsuch receieved a lot of that collateral.

he would have been confirmed at the same ratio that Kagan and Sotomayor were anyways, if Reid didn’t pull his stunt. Now we are at the 51/49 firing line, and if its 50/50 vp wins

I'm referring to not holding a hearing during the vacancy and the removal of the filibuster, not the actual confirmation vote itself.

she was arguably too young and inexperienced to be called to the supreme court. and while she was an outspoken hardliner on the issue of abortion, it was difficult to assess exactly how far to the right she was actually standing on most other issues.
