This is a 1970s talking point. many unions are split voters or republican. UAW trends GOP from management to workers, prison guards union is very right winged, teachers union obviously democrat. i'd bet my bank account the rail union votes 70%+ republican top of ticket.

Union members may vote republican, but unions like teamsters are pro democrat. One of my biggest annoyance with unions is…that they in the long run don’t represent the need of the workers.

Yeah 20 plus years.

it depends a LOT on the industry. but in the trades i rarely find a worker who's not wildly pro union. easy to understand when for example an Oshkosh Truck assembler makes 35$/hour and gets 4 weeks off a year paid, when in a non union factory they make 20$/hour.

i know quite a few railroad workers, and they all love the union. but i cant say a sample size of 5 dudes is representative.
